Photographic images have played a huge part in my life during 40 years working on newspapers, industrial magazines and as chief press officer of Imperial Chemical Industries. I cannot remember a working day when I was not laying out a page with a picture, commissioning one, or taking my own camera for an outing. Landscape and wildlife are a particular passion.
Camera clubs have been a huge influence on improving my photography with their regular competitions, specialist groups and photographic exhibitions. Herts Foto Forum provided a very different outlet, with discussions on art and photography, exhibitions, and publications and the occasional specialised session on subjects such as home made books. Always a stimulating group.
