Mary has been a very keen photographer for many years. Using analogue B&W film she created simple still life images from antique and modern household objects, flowers and fruit. Light and shadows are as important to her as shapes and textures. The relationship between the objects as she arranges them is critical – they should harmonise in their tone and form. Light, shadows, shapes and textures also play an important part of the image.
Since owning a digital camera she has taken a slightly different direction and now works digitally in colour. The subjects are now slightly more abstract – an origami pyramid, a coil of paper and a large frosted marble are some of the new objects. She has exhibited in both joint and solo exhibitions and this is the first time that she has exhibited with HFF.
