If not just as mementos of people and places then why do we create pictures? Maybe sometimes to express personal views, even visions, of the world and one’s imaginings. Sometimes they communicate.
Images of sport are almost always of heroes and dramas, but playing sport is as at root about fun and focus, and those strange bedfellows camaraderie and competition. And as we are hearing on The Archers, cricket is for the girls as well as for the boys.
